Hey there. I’m glad you’re here.
No Fancy Words is my new blog and someday podcast and YouTube channel, pending some upskilling at the moment. At its heart, it's a space to reframe how we think about art.
Here’s the truth:
Art isn’t just for people with degrees in art history or critics who speak in metaphors. Art isn’t precious. It’s not untouchable. It doesn’t need to be explained in ten-syllable words to matter.
Art is a tool.
A tool for healing. For growing. For expressing yourself.
It’s for mental wellness. For curiosity. For play. For truth.
And most importantly—it's for you.
Once you shift your mindset and start seeing art as something made to serve you—not to intimidate you—you unlock something powerful. You gain a new language. Not a fancy one. Just a real, honest one.
That’s what this space is for.
The name No Fancy Words came from something a friend said when she was looking at my paintings. She’s an accomplished, creative person herself, but when she told me, “I like your art, but I don’t have fancy words for it,” something in me clicked. That moment stuck with me. Because she didn’t need fancy words. None of us do. We just need space to connect, to feel, to talk real about what moves us.
So join me.
Subscribe, follow, or just hang out when you need a little inspiration or clarity.
I’ll be sharing stories, thoughts, reviews, reflections—and where I can, free journal downloads, playlists, and creative prompts.
This is for the curious, the quiet, the overwhelmed, the seekers. This is for anyone who’s ever looked at something and felt something—even if they didn’t have the words for it.
No fancy words needed. Just show up.

I also want to credit Alain de Botton for influencing the way I think about art—especially through his work Art as Therapy (paid link). His approach helped shape my belief that art isn’t some elite, hard-to-understand thing. It’s a tool for everyone—for healing, growth, expression, and understanding ourselves. That perspective is at the heart of everything I’m building here.
